Q: What versions of Windows is InfoAgent compatible with?
A:
InfoAgent is compatible with Windows 95, 98, NT, 2000 and XP. The updated
version supporting Windows XP was released on 5-21-2003. IA will not
run correctly with Win 3.1, with or without Win32s installed.
Q: Can
I send copies of InfoAgent to my friend / coworker, etc?
A:
Yes. InfoAgent is freeware. You can not modify IA in any way, but we
encourage you to share it with whomever you wish.
Q: We
access the internet through a proxy server, will InfoAgent work through
it?
A:
InfoAgent requires you to have certain permissions for it to function
properly. You must have access to the HTTP and FTP protocols. If you
have these permissions, IA should work properly through your firewall.
If you lack FTP access, you will be alerted to updated versions of InfoAgent
being available, but will not be able to automatically download them.
Q: InfoAgent
can't find the business I'm looking for. Why is this?
A:
InfoAgent can find most businesses in the U.S. If you can not find a
business, the first thing to do is confirm you're doing the correct
type of search. If you're looking for a business name, make sure you've
selected the "Bus name" radio button before running your search. If
this doesn't help, tell us what you were looking for by clicking here,
and we'll try to help.
Q: I'm
getting "Http Error 400" when I search via InfoAgent. Why is this?
A:
A bug report was received on 10-25-99 which led us to find that certain
browsers were not searching correctly if the name of the city had more
than one word in it. A fixed version was updated the same day on the
web page, and can be downloaded by returning to the InfoAgent
Download Screen.
